All Hazard Initial and Sustained Emergency Response Plan

Introduction: The leadership of any organization has an obligation to care for the safety and well –being of the people in the organization and the organization as an entity. In order to fulfill legal, moral and ethical responsibilities in this regard it is best practice to;

1. Identify all the reasonable potential hazards to the safety and well-being of the     organization and its personnel.

2. Develop and maintain a practical Emergency Response Plan

3. Orientate everyone in the organization to the plan and train all those responsible for implementation of the plan

4. Practice plan implementation to maintain readiness

5. Review the Plan annually

 

A good response plan will be designed to simply and effectively describe the structure of the command and control of the plan, basic response actions, and supporting information. Suggested format;   

Statement of Purpose: The leadership of ____________Church recognizes its responsibility to ensure a safe and controlled environment for all Gods people who worship, visit, or work at ___________.  Along with safe infrastructure components and good safety procedures an Emergency Response Plan is an essential part of our commitment to Church safety.

Suggested format for each category of potential hazards i.e. lost child, fire, severe weather, medical emergency etc.

Policy Statement (i.e. Strategy – what we want to do)

Procedure/SOP (i.e. Tactic – How we intend to do it)

Plan should include a Reference Appendix and definition of specific terms
